I just finished my conversion from a 2001 auto to a manual, but i am having a hard time figuring out how to get it started with all the plugs coming off of the auto trans. There is only one plug on the manual and it is for the back-up lights but I do not have the same plug.

So my questions are what is the best way to get my truck started, and how do I get my back-up lights to work? Is there a company that makes adaptor plug for any of this?

Any info is very helpful, Thanks Andrew

You don't give the year of your truck, but the auto has a three wire plug on the right side of the trans case - - - one wire is the neutral safety switch and two are power in/power out for the back up light switch. Manual doesn't say anything about the backup light switch. Sorry, don't know how to tell you to hook it up.

OOOPS! read problem wrong! Auto to standard NOT standard to auto - - three wire plug on right side of trans need to be replaced with two wire plug on top of tran - - also on left side you will have to test wires but two of the wires operate the b/u lights - - - the third wire goes to the nuetral safety switch. It is a case ground so You will need to figure out how to ground it to allow it to start. Touch it to the trans case and it should start.
