Guys. (First gen guys)

Would it be too much to have a First Gen Day here in North Central Ohio? I mean, we have the "Not in Muncie" project (end of June) and the Indiana Cookout aka "Smoke over Peru" in October.

I need both pos and neg feedback.

The shop would be open to install gauges and I'd be happy to perform a dowel pin instructional demmo/test the intake systems and other similar projects. Got tons of shop equipment like a lift and a pit and jacks and air etc. etc. etc.

Is there going to be enough interest?

The shop would hold six rigs comfortably and plenty of parking.

We are located between Ashland and Mansfield in Amish country. Read that as "the more smoke the better" Oo.

I'm not opening up my tool box for everyone to use unless it's a specialty tool.

When to have said event. I'm just asking here.

There is a dyno shop very near by too, for about $100. 00 per truck.

Could/would someone pleez bring the "Sacred Piston"

Scott

P. S. second gen trucks too????? I'd hate to make them look bad. :-laf

Scott are you sure you're ready for 50+trucks to show up at the school:D?? -that is, with all the talk about the recent activities at your shop and the success of the 1st gen cookout and repair day at Jeremies, I think we'd have a bunch of folks lining up...

Anytime would be good for me. Sounds like before the IRP June event would be good huh? Got Thunder at IRP in June, Scheids in Terre Haute in August, Smoke over Peru at Jeremies in October... ... . lets see one month between each event there, hmm, so lets see, April be a good month??

As far as the dyno goes, is $100 per truck the cost of everyday dynoing? Maybe if there was a big interest in everyone dynoing, we could get a cheaper rate, say 25+trucks @$50-60 each?? I know thats the way the Indy dyno day went, less than 10 trucks dyno @ $75, more than 10 trucks dyno @ $50. I know this would be all up to the interest and the dyno shop themselves.

Camping available on site or close by? I think DP could stay just south of you at that Shawshank prison camp hehehe...

Good point Bill

If there is interest... ... I can ask the school board for a whatchamahcallit and they will grant or not grant permission to use the garage and grounds. Folks do it all the time. We have weddings and such in the buildings all the time. The gym(s) are used to hold fund raisers etc.

I have done my home work dudes :)

The only thing questionable is that the board has suspended granting permission to use the buildings due to construction and additions. However I don't want to use the school(s). I would only require the front parking lot and shop. There is no construction in this area.

Fifty trucks would be impossible. I'd bet only a handful would be a reality.

i know, these "computerized" diesels just aren't the same thing. :-laf

Hmmm, I don't suppose this facility has the capability to press out and replace front kingpins? :p

Regardless of the answer to that, let me know the date! The further in advance I know, the more likely I'll be able to make it.

Don

I would love to come, but looking at the map it looks like it would be too long of a drive. Kind of the way it looks for you guys to come out to the west coast.

Stomp

It would be right at 1200 miles round trip for me. I'm sure it would be worth it, but probably not going to be possible. I am aiming for "smoke over peru" if there is still plans for that later this year. I would also love to got to IRP, or shieds but neither will probably end up happening this year. Guess I need to get a crewcab so everybody can come. :(

Michael

Mr. McVey,

I really should and would luv to hang with you guys more often, however I'm not going to drive the Ford Ranger to a diesel truck meet.

Tug, what was I thinking! Slap my mouth and spread peanut butter on my ears.

Bill, I can say this for sure:

No camping, no beer or the like and I'm sure they won't want us up all night.

Ohio Meet

Scott,

Great Idea, I would love to be there but a little out of my driving range for the weekend. . Hope there are lots of trucks there and lots of pics to post...

Best of luck

Ron

P. S. Now how about a gtg in the Las Vegas Area anyone Interested?

The Name?

Ok,... . Trucks Fly in the Buckeye..... Smoke High O'er - Ohio... ... . Rattle Near the Cattle..... alright, I'll shut up now.

Nice try indeed.

I'm leaning towards something that contradicts its'self. Like Amish and Ratling/Smoking Diesels. Simply picture an Amish buggy with six inch twin stacks.

Combine these two and we'll sure to have a hit.

Put on your thinking caps. I'll have to have a surprise for the guy who names it.

Planning... ... ... ... .....

That's just it. I'd like a handful of rigs. I'll have something even if four trucks show.

Planning is going to be the problem. You have the following to contend with. Please help if you have suggestions

Race day(s) here in Mansfield... . traffic and no hotel rooms

Major holidays

School functions during school. Won't be a problem in the summer months

Thunder in Muncie

Peru IN October fest

Cold weather in April and November.

Too wintery in dead of winter.

My wife's Birthday (Sep 22nd)

My Anniversary (June12th ... ... ..... I think?)

My truck won't be on the road untill April sometime :(
