Well, I have to say, that I am totally impressed with my new truck and its towing prowess!

Even without the Aisin, the truck towed my 15,000K 5er flawlessly on a 3-1/2 hour trip through the mountains in BC to our destination at Halcyon Hot Springs.

Its strong through all the gears and on steep grades doesn't lose much in the climb. A little more foot into the peddle solved that.

I watched my temperatures on the long steep grades. Even with the 68RFE, there was some change people spoke of in temps. However, I feel not detrimental.

Here's what I found towing in Tow Hall mode:

These are in C and (F)
Normal Flats
Engine temp - 89*(195*F)
Trans temp - 76* (168*F)

Longest Steep Grade
Engine temp - Hit 100* (212*F) once
Trans temp - Hit 89* (195*F) once

This thing purred along at 75mph on the flats and didn't even know it was dragging something behind it, let alone 15,000 lbs.
Aside from it being a little thirsty due to pulling on the hills, I'm totally impressed!

Nice, I have a 2500 with only 8500 lbs behind it. Haven't towed up any steep inclines yet, but good to hear! I've also noticed that the sloppy feel of the 68RFE goes away when the truck is pulling weight. Trans felt very solid, no surging .

Count me in as another satisfied 68RFE user. My 2012 tows our 15,000lbs. fiver effortlessly. Could not be happier with this truck.

Man this is all music to my ears....... i will be towing my rig this weekend for the first time. Not sure i will get anything done this week at work. All i can think about is my date on Friday night with my little red princess...:D

My 07.5 with the 68RFE served me fine for 220,000 km's. I never had a complaint about it. It saw 260-270 degrees a few times as well and always towed reasonable hard at 24,500 lbs total and was behind a chipped engine with about an extra 30 Hp and 80ft/lbs since the 10,000 km mark. The only thing I had to do to it was switch out the valve body due to cross leakage that was allowing pressure where it wasn't supposed to be per given gear, that's it.
