I have had my truck 2 1/4 years. It only shows one hour of idling in all that time. I think the 2013's may not use the engine use data correctly for notifying oil life. i think GS Brockman noticed the same bizarre idling time screen. If it is using the idling time shown on the screen, it probably is not giving correct oil life. FYI

Plenty of idling. It just doesn't get recorded in the computer. It is confusing. And makes me think it is not using accurate data to notify oil life.

770 hours of driving. 1 hour of idling. (According to the screen) 18,000+ miles

Might I suggest that you people with the new fange dangle oil thing a ma jig indicators should call Cummins ir get a qualified Dodge mechanic to explain that will life system. It might include mileage, and if it does, I heard it includes way more to inform you it's time to change. I don't know the entire system, since I don't have it. But if you do, you should make sure you have the correct info.

"dipstick shows like too much oil above safe zone. Is this common after filter and 3 gal added per dealer paperwork?"

Over full after an oil change from a Dealer or lube joint is common. Fact is they let the oil drain for only a few seconds then replace the plug so there is no wan that the oil has all been removed and then they add 12 quarts=OVERFULL!

I usually let mine drain overnight or at least several hours. Then the filter is easy to remove without it spilling over the top. I then add 11 5/8 quarts check after it has ran and is cold and my oil will be right on the full mark. Just look at the bottom of the oil pan. The oil drain level is higher then the bottom of the pan and does not allow for a complete drain.
