Moab, thanks... i found the tach plug. Now i am just wondering, i have seen guys have a 4K tach, but havent found them for sale? where might i get one? also, is all i have to do is buy the tach? does it come with the wireing? and last, when i get the tach, is all i have to do just plug it in and its good to go???

Depends on which brand you buy. If you go with ISSPRO, they sell a wiring kit for $25 or so (from a TDR vendor, not direct from ISSPRO) that has a filter in it to work off the factory wiring harness. Mine works great. I would buy the tach kit, and if it doesnt have the wiring, plug it in and see if it works. If it does, great. If not, get the adaptor kit.

..... you think that its puffs the white smoke because its never towed and the injectors could be gummed up? i assume from it never getting worked hard/hot enough to clean em out?

Exactly. In my experience, the ones that got worked hard, but not over worked, had the best fuel systems- I would venture to guess that EGTs ot high enough to burn all the carbon, and the fuel system flowed enough fuel to keep it all lubed well. The creampuffs needed work when I got them.

I got the isspro tach from either Genos or PDR both supporters of TDR. If you don't see the 4k tach call and ask for it. I didn't buy the harness, but it probably would have been easier. The plug in the wiring harness has male flat contacts. I made my first harness with female spade crimp connectors covered with heat shrink. I then ran the wires to the tach according the diagram on the tach. On the 93 wiring harness I have, Black - ground for lights. OR = gauge lights. Red = Power, GY-LB= tach signal from PCM.

I have since scavenged a plug and replaced it when I had everything open in the dash again just so vibration or something doesn't cause intermittent function.
