I've searched & searched, maybe I'm a dunder head but, could anyone help a fellow out. Please!![]()
The Laramie option began with the 3rd generation in '03. My previous trucks with all the options including the leather seats that I prefer in '97 and '00 were ordered as SLT+.

Bill,
I agree about the SLT+ designation for the leather, etc. There was even a finer distinction, the SLT+ "G" or "H" package. The "H" package got you the heated front seats and power adjustment for the passenger's seat; the "G" didn't. The SLT+ order designation was also used on the Durango - my wife's 2000 was an SLT+.
In any case, back to the original question, unless my failing memory fails again, the C pillar badge on my 1996 said Laramie SLT.

From the answers posted, I guess I should clarify and explain the reason for my question.
When I purchased my 04 it was listed as a "Laramie" and it had every option under the sun, this was verified by the build sheet I received from Dodge. So I was surprised last night when I noticed the tailgate and all it had was, 4X4 with SLT under it, but no Laramie. So from the postings I now know the Laramie package goes back a lot farther, than I realized.
I guess what I'm trying to figure out is what year the Laramie became a separate badge and stand alone option package?
Sorry for the long post and thanks to all who posted.
I'm still curious when the Laramie became a separate badge; any one in the know?

My 05 is a Laramie "H" package with leather and all the bells and whistles. My 95 3500 dually, on the other hand, was a Laramie SLT with cloth seats. Leather was not an option then, which I really wanted.
Grizz,
That's one of the resons I waited until '97 to replace my '92 D350 CTD. I looked at and sat in a pre-production '97 leather optioned 1500 at the St Louis assembly plant during the '96 TDR Rally. I came home and ordered the '97 3500 DRW with leather.
