Guys I'm new to the TDR and have had my truck only since March but i am learning so much by reading this forum ! I know this is an elementary question but when "fixed kitty " is included in someones signature what do they mean ? Also hoping to get my KDP taken care of in Northern California Can anyone recommend a helper in the Bay Area ? I'm new to diesel engines. Thanks alot, shorty

It means their catalytic converter has been either reamed out into a straight pipe or totally removed. A cat on a diesel does very little besides clog up and will create an exhaust restriction that results in higher egts. Most begin clogging around 75k miles. You will see other inventive descriptions such as neutered cat, kitty ran off etc. It is against the law, do so at your own risk.

Thanks Deezul 1 I have been reading this forum now for a few months so i am aware of " the dark side " but up until now have been good about resisting , mostly out of ignorance, but now i'm itching to bomb a bit but first i want to get my KDP fixed. I've had no luck in finding help with this in my area i will keep trying. see ya, shorty

Fixing the KDP with the kit is easy just follow the directions. Everything you need is in the kit all you need is a drill motor. An air compressor is nice but not essential. If you use a compressor blow the air through the dipstick tube works great.

Good luck,

Rod

Were can i get a kit ? I swear i know little or nothing about working on the truck . I know alot about horsepower unfortunatley its the 4 legged kind not the cummins. I would much rather work with someone hands on then mess something up . I talked to Nowell down in Half moon bay, Ca but have not connected with his buddy yet Will keep trying . thanks Demon Dodge for the info
