It looks like we will have to test a few more 2nd gens to be sure Dave's truck is a good representation of the 24v trucks

I'll agree with that as for what this shows above there really is no gain to be had worth what the inherent cost will be. I'd like to see what gains would be had with a heavily fueled and bigger charger truck.
