VW Jetta TDI transmission oil?

Ford is moving the ICP sensor from the rear of the engine to the front, longer glow plugs will be added and "no pilot injection". Ford hopes the more basic injection will be more dependable. Ford also has concluded some hydraulic problems with the 03 injectors came from foam in the oil and is recommending a Stanydine anti-foam additive for the engine oil.

Wow, I'm glad I passed on the 6. 0. If they turn off the pilot injection, won't that increase the noise and emissions? So much for a quiet diesel. The anti-foam additive is odd, I thought that was a problem on the 7. 3's too. Our company 7. 3's always ran well with no additive up to 200K? The auto transmissions went south around 80K on average due to the constant hauling, towing and Atlanta traffic. You would think the new trucks would be improved.

I really like the vault like cab, very quiet, I wonder if it will stay that way with the pilot injection off. :(

Poor Ford owners, spend all that money on a 6. 0 and end up with noise of the 7. 3.

Poor Ford owners, victims of status symbols, and advertising.

Poor Chevy owners, no-one really cares, and they're fugly.

Poor Dodge owners, no-one really knows or believes.

Hey Sticks they are learning. At least the DMax's are. Remember Greg from the Dynopro event? (Black Dmax with ladder bars) He was at Hooters with us last night. Fun guy, he said "I have got to get me a Cummins, they make so much power and they are so unsuspecting. "

Pretty funny eh?

Turning off the pilot injection would make them louder. If the cabs are insulated as good as my grandpas' '97 PSD was, it won't be a problem. You could barely hear the engine, let alone the turbo. It was straight-piped also. Had to open a window to hear it well.

If they are having to use anti-foam additives, sounds like they are using the wrong oil in the engine. Doug Lewis from http://www.fordspecialists.com/ recommmends Rotella T because of all of the ani-foaming agents in the oil.

I "heard" a 6. 0L at the county fair this summer. Sounded more like a woosh sound. That's all I could hear over the announcer and the carnival rides behind the stands.

Didn't think much of that motor. It only pulled about 5-10 or so feet farther than a 1st. genner. The Ford truck downshifted from pulling down the motor. It ran out of power and traction at about the same time.
