Use your insurance and get it fixed . My buddy just did that with a long bed . Thought it would never hit the truck no matter how much he jacknifed it ... Surprise !! Looked just like yours, Alot more folks have done it then have admitted it . Just make you pay attention.

Jacked mine too far and broke my rear window also. Insurance didn't cover it. Now I try not to get into that position, it's bad for your trailer tires and axles. Oh, and also took off up a mountain in N.C. without locking the kingpin. Andersen stayed put due to the pin weight. Another lesson learned.

You are very lucky! Lots of the roads could have caused it to pop off. Another reason I would have an Andersen, you can't lock the RV to the hitch.

Works great for older guy's.

Works great for younger guys with blown out backs too :-laf

I've only got part of one season in towing a 5th wheel so posts like this are a great reminder as to what can happen. I have hauled alot of miles with a GN and it helped me be prepared to an extent, but putting a big wide 5ver back there with next to zero rearward visibility takes some getting used to. That has been the one single hardest thing for me to adapt to, with my flat deck I have pretty decent visibility when backing/turning into a spot. Not so with a 5ver, you better have some faith in your spotter if it's a tight spot.

I have recently purchased a 5er and a '13 CC,DRW, 4X4, flat bed that I put an Andersen steel low height hitch on. First thing I noticed was I had no tailgate to stop a disconnect between truck and trailer.
Went to the Andersen web site and saw a set of safety chains. I bought a set and will be using them this weekend for the first time. Hope I don't need them.
