Does anyone on this forum pull a Forrest River, Americana or Cardinal with your 2500? If so, how long is it and whats the GCVWR? Thanks, Sarge:confused:

Hi Sarge

I dont have either models you mentioned, but I do own a forest river wildwood 30' with SSlide. 10K GVWR. It tows well. Had it up to 80 mph on the hwy ( on a straight away of course) and could hardly tell it was there.

Sarge,

I have a Forest River Sierra F30 (30') toy hauler. Last time I weighed with the Jeep in it, I had 12,000 lbs on the axles (upgraded to 16" wheels and E load range tires), and 21,500 lbs GCW. My '98 2500 towed it for 3-1/2 years with no problems, except for two trips the first year where the auto transmission scared me with some slipping; never a problem after that, though.

Haven't pulled it with the new truck yet--still need to find the right 5th-wheel hitch to install.

Thanks for the info guys, my new 5ver is about a week out, and I am a little nervous... ... ... . but I will survive. There is an old addage in my profession "WHEN IN DOUBT, SHOOT IT OUT". So what ever comes up, I will handle it, with the help of the TDR!!!:D
