When asked to be the moderator of this forum I began to think of ways to make it better. One of my observations was that RV folks tended to hang around this campfire. Since this forum is about the only place for us to gather on the TDR, I have asked the Powers that Be to expand this forum to include discussions of RVs and related problems. They have done so and I am grateful. I have told my fellow moderators that I have the easiest job of the moderators because RV folks tend to be the nicest bunch of people to be around. So, you will notice that the new name for our forum is Towing, hauling and RVs. Get after it!!!

Fantastic!! I think that it might even be appropriate at some time to split the topic into separate sections for RV's and commercial towing. Hopefully we can refrain from the heated topics of "extended drain intervals using synthetic lubricants". Maybe that one deserves a forum all to it's own.

Too all who have been watching my threads on selling my truck and camper, we have decided to keep them both for now and enjoy camping this summer.

Barry,

Well, at least until someone brings up the subject of, "Is it OK to run overloaded?" :-{} or "Can I safely use a gooseneck adapter on my 5th wheel pin box?"#@$%! ;) :D

I guess all we're doing is formalizing what tended to happen anyway - the RVing questions seemed to wind up here anyway. It should be fun. Oo.

WELL shucks - let's heat things UP a bit!:D

Do ya think it's ok in a wilderness CG to fire up yer contractor-type 4 KW generator at 8 sharp in the morning to use yer microwave and electric coffee pot - or should ya suffer without the genny outta respect fer the generator-hating campers on each side of you? The same goes fer running it right up to quiet hour so's ya can watch yer favorite TV program... ;) :D

How about those folks who are too cheap to spend th' dough on a commercial CG, and instead, plan their entire trip around Walmart and Flying J parking lots - are they really thrifty - or just "parking lot welfare Rvers"? ;)

There, THAT oughta warm things up a bit... :p

HEY!

I LIKE Walmart camping...

Especially on a 2 day drive to the Left Coast and its 8pm, and the commie campgrounds don't allow slide in truck campers, but don't let you know 'till you pull in. #@$%!

When I wanna make time gettin' somewhere, those so called commercial campgrounds can go pound sand lookin' for my money! :p

Parking lot welfare RV'ers....LOL

I'm still laughing!!!!!!!!!!!! :--) I do the same thing, but not at wally world or K-mart. .

I usually go to the dirt lots or truck stops or rest stops.

Especially when were trying to get somewhere quick and driving 12-14 hours a day... . No sense in KOA at 11pm for 30$

FYI: If you ever find yourself going thru Dumas, Texas up north of Amarillo... ... ..... find the city park just west of town. Pull in to the park and go to the back. There you will find 25 to 30 RV hookups free of charge... ... ... courtesy of the merchants of Dumas. Don't be a moocher. Over next to the fence is a steel strong box for donations. I always drop in $5 to cover the electric. Tell us where your free spot is located... ... ... ... ... ... ... ...
