Gentelmen,

Concrete highways are all a continues pour. The slab is poured by dumping concrete in front of a white paving machine. Sort of a motorized screed. Once the slab has set up it is saw cut at random intervals and at an angle so as not to create a harmonic vibration. What you are feeling is uneven settelment. The concrete highway I comute on was just ground using a profile grinder. My truck rides great on that surface. Just my $. 02.

Sorry CS,

They didn't used to be that way. The old concrete highways are blocks separated by tar or grooves. Nice even spaced bumps. There was one bridge on ST70 in CA between Yuba City and Sacramento that would make my dad's jeep bounce so hard the tires would loose traction and squeak every bounce. We used to laugh so hard we almost lost it. I80 thru the Sierras was pretty bad until the freezes and big rigs broke it up so bad it was completely resurfaced. It's getting kinda broke up again, but at least it doesn't get a "sync" bounce.

We have thousands of trucks hauling cargo from the port down here in Long Beach, and it isnt just uneven settling...

Its years of continuous pounding from heavy trucks. Once the rhythmic bumps started, they just keep getting bigger & bigger... Living by the freeway I hear a constant boom boom boom from the empty trucks wheelhopping back... Try it . . you'll like it...

I know exactly what you guys mean, Penna. roads are bad too. I installed the velvet ride shackles and was disappointed, not feeling any difference on my 99 3500 4x4. Id love to know what the Kelderman air ride setup does before I lay the big cash down.
