I learned long ago to buy US Made windshields commuting in NW WA with sand on the roads. I had one windshield get so pitted that I could hardly see thru it when the sun hit it just right. I looked and it was made offshore. Replaced with US Made and it lasted for many years. Glass companies will sell you junk if they can get away with it. Comprehensive is cheap with glass coverage.
 
We go thru windshields often enough that we keep out comprehensive deductible at $0.

We used to keep it at $50 and going to $0 saves us money in the long run.

I had an OEM windshield installed on my 18 not too long ago. 12-18 months isn't abnormal for windshield life, 24 months is rare.

Thanks , Just got the OEM ordered , I only have $50 deductible, so no big deal , will be replaced Monday . We can turn it back over to detailing . :D

I got over 7 years out of this one , with just one chip repair . So $50 deductible isn’t too bad .
 
I replaced mine last fall at Crystal Chrysler near Palm Springs, CA at 5 years because of getting sand blasted every winter down there.
