As always, Thanks for all the input. I once thought the pointed needle were only to puncture a boot. At this point I had to try something different. I purchased the pointed needle and it did the job, perfectly. Being careful not to brake it off, it slid in about 3/8s of an inch. Just as described. I could hear air escaping with the first couple of pumps. After 7-10 the grease was escaping from the side near the t-case. It took a flash light to look between the gaps to see it.

Problem solved once again!

Best Regards,

Best Regards,

Yeah. Mine always takes about 10 pumps to get it coming out of the gap next to the tfer case. (An inch and a half away from the zerk toward the tfer case) Mine takes more than what others are reporting . Some are getting it greased with 2 or 3 pumps?????

Unlike other joints, there are minimal seals on the actual cardon joint bearing....it is simply a large single ball bearing inside a pocket between the two halves of the joint with s spring to keep it in place. IMO there is little danger to "overgreasing" it, other then perhaps sliding grease onto the truck chassis.

You miserable Git...I'll answer. Yes there is that play I thought the same - it's normal.

If the OP had followed my sugjestion rather than make what he thought was a smart comment he'd have gotten 10 times the info including photos and part numbers for various grease needle adapters. Unfortunately, he , like you, can't see the forest for the trees.
