I am experiencing clicking noises while turning at slow speeds. Could this be U-joints making this noise? The left front U-joint looks like it's coated with a rust colored dust. The right side doesn't look dry and dusty like the left. It sounds as if the noise is coming from the left.
Most likely have the joint going bad. With it parked grab the joint and compare the play in it compared to the other side. You might not feel the play unless the needles started to turn to dust.
Would bet money it's the front axle u-joints, have had to replace both sides twice in my 08 3500 less than 60k miles. I'd never thought I'd say I wish they still used Dana axles.
Just took a look. Definately the Lt. fron U-joint. I assume the spindle has to be pressed out? I did the U-joints on my drive shaft, is it much harder/different? I'm sure there are posts on "how to". Can anyone point me to a link?
