2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission front end clunk

My truck see sig has about 9k miles now. I have noticed that when I apply the brakes firmly while backing up after normal driving I hear a clunk. This will not happen if you apply the brakes a second time while backing up, however if you pull forward press the brakes firmly then try backing again you hear the clunk again. Any ideas on this before i take it to the dealer. it almost acts like a loose caliper of something

From what you describe I would also guess calipers.

Mine did that when my ball joints were bad. Doesn't seem possible in 9k though

my 94 did the clunk check sway bar links

Mine developed a clunk in the front end at 10k miles. The dealer replaced the track bar which fixed the problem and made it steer more true.

Mine made a clunk when front right U joint wore out!
