What are you guys doing to protect the front fins of radiator. Mines a 09 few miles on it, but already flys are denting it

I have a piece of window screen draped over the front. I cut two small holes and hung it over the hood bump stops and zip tied down. I haven't had any engine heat issues and it keeps all bugs off the radiator, intercooler and trans cooler. I brush the screen off every couple months. Works great!

Condensor Guard

I bought the condensor guard from Geno's. It works well and is tough enough to stand on the front bumper and work on the motor or related equip. and not damage the AC. condensor with your feet. Yes a little pricey but does the job well. It only takes one time to climb up there or a mechanic and your condensor is hosed for ever. You can spend a lot of time standing there trying to straighten all those little alumunum fins.

Good luck

Mitch

I use a courser grid heavy duty screen from HomeDepot. The openings are much bigger to allow for better air circulation and still keep the bugs out. It works very well for me.

I've had heavy gauge stainless steel window screen right behind the grill since nearly the beginning. Some folks say that it restricts airflow, but my opinion is that it don't block near as much wind as the bugs do!! And the bugs are a lot easier to clean off it than to be digging out of the AC condensor, Trans cooler, and Intercooler (not to mention the straightening fins issue).

I have the Kilbys condenser guard w/the black screen from the box stores. Works well. When bugs are dry they brush and wash off. Also no overheat issues. Easily replaceable.
