I have a friend that uses me for his truck trouble shooting. He has a 95 3500 4X4 dually 5 speed. He recently developed a leak from the drivers side front axle shaft seal at the knuckle. Since he was at 175,000 miles I sugested that it was most likely a bad seal but probably caused by the U-joint at the wheel being stiff or frozen and while we have it apart we should go ahead and replace the wheel bearing. We looked at Rbattel's post and decided that this wasn't something we wanted to tackle. I started pricing parts and we discoverd that Dodge sells the complete front hub/brake rotor/bearing assembly with the dually extension on it (that is the complete assembly) for just under $450! I couldn't believe it. The parts manual says it's for his 95 (we had to look it up by the VIN) but I'm thinking that its probably the same up through 2002. Maybe different as to 4 wheel anti lock brakes, I'm not sure, I'll look to see if it has a tone wheel on it before we intall it. Would make it easy to convert a 2500 front end to a 3500 dually set up. Now if we can get that rusty spindle nut to just come apart!!!
