The trip is complete, and here are the results. First, I want to post this. Notice the date of the donation, the day before I left TX. I did that to alleviate any conflict of interest. I'm sure there is at least one person (not you LN) that would acccuse me of throwing the results for a small $$ gain.

Total trip was 1874 miles, 516 empty-1358 towing. The trailer ended up being a 16 footer, 88 inches wide with very little equipment inside and weighed about 3500 pounds. Much smaller and lighter than the cargo trailer I based my figures on, so I expected about 14 mpg pulling it, possibly more. So much for optimism. Using my previous MPG devided into the actual miles I should have needed 127. 3 gallons. I used 127. 9. It is argueable that wx conditions altered the result, I hit some wind in IA, but had a tailwind in ND. Who knows?
I can tell TGVET why a person would want the 8oz, more expensive bottles. When filling up on a dark, cold, windy morning the last thing I wanted to do was measure out 6 oz to add to my tank when I was in Minot, ND yesterday morning. In fact, there had to be a real good increase in MPG to convince me to go thru the trouble of measuring the amount of fuel in my aux tank (old broom handle marked off in 10 gal increments), then pouring sticky liquid from a jug to a measuring cup, then to a funnel at every fillup. I gave it my best shot. Towed and drove empty at 57-58 mpg, gradual increasing speed entering the freeway, all the good habits I use normally. Count me as one who was not sold on the product after using it.
Here I am this morning, snowed in in Taber, AB. Which reminds me. Stanadyne is supposed to be stored above 32* What good is that? I'm not going to keep it in the cab.
