Has anyone changed the fuel filter (not water separator) every other change out, due to the water separator keeping the primary filter clean?
If your refering this, its more a question.

I change both fuel filters around 13k miles. You probably won't see anything on the engine mounted filter because it is mostly to remove the very small particulates--it is a Nanonet filter. It still should be changed every 15k or more often. I put a foot long piece of 1/2" copper tubing into the front factory drain hose, and 1/2" clear tubing on the nipple of the rear filter's water separator. The front tubing will be just in front of the front differential cover.
This statement was enough for me to change both, being the front filter has better filtration then the first filter.

What is the ID size of the front drain hose? I thought that I had seen 3/8 I got that size it was to small. Is it 1/2 ID or 7/16? It seems like I have seem both for the front.

Hey Tony. I grew up in Tremont, IL (Over near Pekin). If you take springfield road south out of Washington (about 12 miles), you will go to my ole stompin grounds.

Glad to help a fellow Illinoisan. Now I'm in Miami, FL though.

In this Picture, I took the 7/16 that came stock on the front filter of my 2013 and jammed a 3/8 in ID hose into the stretched out end of it. (the end that had been on the fuel drain on the front filter.

Both ends of this new combined hose have different inner diameters. so I use it on both front and back. I just turn it around because both ends have a different diameter.

It doesn't leak.

Sorry to jump in on a question asked to GS Brockman. But, just thought I would weigh in if he is too busy to respond.

That's not a problem, He's someone that I see in a lot of threads. Just wanted to be sure as I bought 20ft of 3/8 ID tube. So I want to make sure this time. And Home of the turk's been by and through Tremont many times I grew up in East Peoria I have lived in Peoria area all my life. I do like the south especially in the winter. I'm a big Dolphin's fan have been since the 70s. We were there in 2013 for about 3 weeks and went to the last fins home game. That was the trip that I totaled my 98.5 had that truck for 17 years. But I wouldn't trade my 2014 for anything.

I just inserted a 3/8 ID tube into front tube, and had a drip pan to catch any fuel that leaked from the hose. It's not a perfect seal but it did catch most of the draining fuel.

I just pulled the old hose off and popped a longer new one on, along with a worm clamp so it doesn't pull off so easily. The original hose size is 5/8" OD and 1/2" ID.
