ok, i've never pulled up on the little lever next to the fuel filter. I read in the meanual it is to release water?

care someone explain that a bit more. .

if i should be doing that every time i fill up the truck and if i should be doing it while the truck is running or what?

That lever is also where you drain the fuel when you change the fuel filter. I used to see if any water came out every so often when I first got my truck. But I never got any out, so I just stopped doing it altogether. Never had a problem with water - always have had good fuel. When I drain it for the filter change, I open it and close it back and forth a few times to get the fuel to start to flow out of it. Then I crack open the filter top and it drains out fast.

Make sure it is really closed and latched closed, after you do it, not just look closed.

When you drive down the road with it open you will fog those mosquitos, and put some!!! diesel on the undercarriage. amazing how much comes out before you can get pulled over, shut down, and check!!!!

Others have reported this problem, but you can gather I have first hand knowledge.

Also follow what Firman Dave says, and knock on wood no problems with water yet.
