I finally unplugged my sending unit from the top of the tank, hoping I'll now just get a low fuel lamp on and eliminate the intermittent "ding-ding" tone.

Is there a way to fool the PCM with a resistor value to have the gauge read a constant level and no low fuel light ?

Hopefully someone has done this already ??

What do you use for fuel level?

I replaced my float with a new unit by loosing back two bed bolts and removing all the rest and jacking the bed up like a dump truck. I pulled the canister out from the top. Not that hard, even for one man.

I've always relied on the trip odometer after fill up. I'll do the bed lift method one of these days, but for now I'd just like to cheat the computer, eliminating the CEL.

I drove 6 months with the gauge on E, I had CEL, fuel light, Abs & 4x4 lights on at the same time - I thought I was looking at my xmas tree... Yes a resistor across will work, I think the factory is 220/20 ohms so 100 ohm should read about 1/2 tank.

ps on the bed tilt - ground strap bolt & fill neck plastic box screws must be removed also.
