Just about got all my parts needed for intercooler install on my 89. From pics of IC'd engines and mine, it looks as though the fuel injection lines are routed differently. IC'd they run between 1,2 and 4,5 as opposed to nonIC'd 1,2 and 3,4 and whatever the rear ones do. On my nonic'd the 3-4 lines are in the way of the IC'd intake horn I will use. Then if I would place the intake horn in its current place, the master cylinder will be in the way. So one would unbolt the intake manifold plate, flip it around where hole is towards front, set the new IC'd horn there, you're in business. BUT with those 3,4 injections lines in the way I can't do that. . ? SO the question is. . I can get a set of lines from a 92 for $50. -a good deal?? . The question is, will these injection lines work with my VE pump? I've heard they wouldn't bolt up

with my nonIC'd pump. ? Thanks in advance.

Ok, what kind of intake horn do you have? Did you get it from the guy with the 92? OR is it a different style? I put the 2nd Gen horn on my pickup, and it seems like it will fit, with nothing getting in the way :). Now I just need the IC :(

... ... Just went out and looked at mine. It looks like the lines going to #2 & #3 will interfere with the intake heater assembly if you flip the intake manifold around to avoid the brake MC. Could you possibly file some of the corner off and get it to fit? DOnt want to get too much taken off, though. ANd 1/16-1/8" clearance would be a good idea, to avoid vibrating the lines against the intake. Decisions, decisions... ...

The early 1st Gen trucks had larger injectors both in fuel delivery and injector body size. They flowed more fuel than the later 1st Gen trucks which leads to the next item... .

Those earlier lines were 2. 0mm ID and the later trucks 91. 5 - 93 had 1. 8mm ID lines.

I also believe the delivery valves may be different in that they may have a different opening pressure and a slightly different retraction collar as well, but I'm not positive on that one.

You may need to do some more checking on this one before making the leap.

DP, I got a tall intake horn(factory minus grid heaters) off a p-pumped 5. 9 out of a freightliner. Looks similiar to the 91. 5-93 intake horn only bigger, taller to take up the difference w/no grid heaters and might even be a bigger inlet. For $10 figured if I don't use it, I know someone here could use it. MI-Don has a intake horn from a 91. 5-93 he is gonna give me. Not sure if my 92 intercooler guy is gonna give up the horn or not. I'm thinking I may need a intake horn from a 94-98 Dodge app since it seems like I could place it on the manifold in its current location (wouldn't have to flip it around) cause it shoots out driverside then 45 somewhat to front, possibly avoiding the brake MC?? DP can you confirm this? Off to the RR's to look at 2nd gen 12V's.
