Got a 05 w/ 48RE about a month ago. Fuel level got low last night and I planned to get fuel this morning. As I left the house the rev limiter kicked in at 2000 rpm and it wouldn't shift out of second. As I made my way back to the house in second the transmission temp light came on. At this point I'm ready to put a bullet through the floorboard and into the transmission as I hate autos(Mama made me buy it). I get home and check out the truck for any obvious defects. None are found. I pump some fuel from my 93 into the 05 and take it for a spin. Problem solved.

DTE on the overhad read 29 miles. I guess I won't be letting her get that low anymore. SteveinAZ

Wow. I've never heard of that happening before. I ran my truck down past 0 on the overhead and didn't have any problems, other than stress from not finding a station w/ diesel until the last minute...

Dodge says the low fuel light comes on at 13% reserve and the DTE is zero at 8% reserve. Both take input from the fuel level indicator. mine is at least that conservative with 4 gal when the light comes on.

search the posts for similar problems with faulty trans temp sender. I saw something last week i think.
