My fuel pressure was 10psi. It would come up to pressure immediatly and at wot it would drop to 2psi. Then to cure a line that was sucking air I installed the Vulcan big line kit. Now it is 12 psi but it takes about 2 minutes to come up to pressure. I still using my carter lift pump that is about 6 months old. Will the time it takes to come up to pressure damage the VP44 over time or do y'all think I just being to picky?

I have thought of going with an aftermarket lift pump but I didn't really want to spend the money right now.

Are you sure the gauge is accurate? I have had my fuel pressure tested mechanically, and I have the westach electric gauge in my truck, and my pressure reads about 14-15 at idle and around 10 at wot, and I am running the same exact setup as you. Also, is the pressure being tested on the VP side or lp side

When I installed my Vulcan Big Line & Reloc kit I had very low to zero pressure for a few seconds after engine start which worried me in that the lines were to big or I had an air leak. After a week or so the pressures have come back to the "norm" that I had prior to the install where during the "key-on" before start I get an instant 4-6psi then quickly goes to 13psi. Altho I did not install the Big Line section from the FF to the IP as of yet.

I would keep an eye on it for awhile and definitely find a way to verify the pressure readings, I have a duel electronic sendor setup so the system has redundancy otherwise I would buy a mech. gauge to check by the IP. Basically pressure lower than 5psi definately should be given some attention as to if there is a cause
