OK, '02 died while customer was driving. He put a AZ pump on, still would not start. Towed to me. Checked pressure, none, although there was volume. I installed Cummins pump, now have pressure but not constant. Most times it is around 5 to 6 psi, but has been as high as 14. I am also changing the VP44, as it fried too. Why does the pressure vary so much?

Will be getting the new pump and hopefully the truck running Tuesday.

Thanks, Smitty

Crapped up intake on the sender maybe. Have you look inside the tank? I mean we all know that the diesel fuel at the stations is alway perfectly clean, but anything can happen. Also maybe a collapsed or damaged line from the tank. Has he been running any Biodiesel? It can do wierd things with fuel lines and fuel intake parts, although if its an '02 things should be compatable.

Think this one is done. Installed the new VP44, bled lines, got her running. With the lines full of fuel, pressure holds between 12-14 at idle. Air in the system must have been messing with the pressure readings.

Thanks
