I just installed a new di-pricol fuel gauge from genos on my truck three days ago. My problem is that i only get 11psi at best and under load i have already seen 4 psi (i havent towed with the gauge yet) The gauge is very steady and seems to respond as it should . Could there be a problem with the isolator -- gauge installation. I did fill it with antifreeze as it said.

P. S. how low does pressure have to be before harming the vp44

Thanks guys

Some say under 8 psi others say as long as there is pressure and not a vacum you are o. k.

If you are still under warranty take it back to the dealership and get it replaced under warranty. It is part of the stand alone engine component 5 years or 100,000 mile warranty.

My gauge reads 11 1/2 - 12 psi normal driveing, idleing, etc. under full load it will not drop below 10 psi. I drilled out my banjo bolts and that is what I contribute to the lower pressure. Normal pressure should be 15-16 psi at idle and normal driveing with WOT drop no less than 10 psi.

Your install and gauge are probably okay; I'd guess that the lift pump is on it's way out. I got the same surprise you did when I put my FP gauge in (my numbers were almost the same as yours). A new lift pump (and a Wildcat Max Flow kit) solved the problem.

When I first installed y gauges (before and after) I had 6 at idle and - at wot. Dealer had just replace injector pump the week before and said lift pump was fine. He replace lift pump and then idle was at 16 and wot was 8. Now with my new mods I am using the FASS system. I don't believe you will get the dealer to do anything with 10 or more psi at idle. Book say less than 10. :D
