Ok i have heard al kinds of names for fuel sys componets. Whats what. Vp44 lift pumps. I keep reading about things breaking. What should i be watching forand how. I do alot of out of town travel and my truck is basically how i make my living so IM leaning more towards longevity from this truck not a dragster.

The vp44 is your electronic injector pump

the lift pump is a small electrical fuel pump that pumps fuel from your tank to the injector pump the lift pump is located on the drivers side mounted to the engine it a small cylinder shaped pump it has 3 bolts coming out of the top of it if you follow the fuel line from your fuel filer back you will se the lift pump.

One thing to with for is lift pump pressure if the lift pump does not supply adequate fuel pressure to the vp44 you can starve the vp44 of fuel and than you have a problem. If you don’t have a gauge it would be a good idea to get a fuel peruse gauge to watch what the lift pump is doing they are less than the price of a lift pump and it good insurance for you vp44
