Thanks guys. They are affordable and brand new Bosch. Sounds like the way to go for a little extra bump in power. Any fuel mileage gains?

These injectors with a new lift pump and a fuel pressure gauge should be the ticket.

Keep in mind, you will still need the boost fooler and elbow if you don't spring for the Edge EZ. About $100 for these two items or about 25% towards the EZ, they are included:D The EZ "will" improve your mileage a little.

You need the fooler but you dont need the elbow, although you'll want it. The elbow reduces pressure to the wastegate so that the overall boost will be higher before the wastegate opens.

Looking for a little boost on a stock 02 5.9 HO with 217K miles. Mild power boost with fuel economy gains and smoother running engine is my goal. Your recommendations please.

Thinking....

Dynomite Diesel 50hp injectors
Boost elbow
FASS DDRP lift pump with relocation kit
VP44 from Thoroughbred diesel
I have a FASS pump on the frame by the tank-same pump for 10 years and 100,000 miles, its been great.

New Bosch 275 HP RV injectors. Dirt cheap. Added to my 01 Sport auto.

How do you like the RV injectors? Noticeable difference from stock?

I just put a DPS 3pc exhaust manifold and intake horn on my truck yesterday. Also putting the boost elbow on the turbo while its off.

I will second, third or fourth whatever it is up to now for the ez, rv275 injectors combo. It is a great combo. You may or may not gain any mileage depending on how you drive but you shouldn't lose any. I ran that combo for at least 200k before I added a smarty and then later swapped out the ez for a juice with attitude. You will notice a nice pick me up with it and the low end torque is certainly better.

As far as lift pump I used the original DTT RASP (their precursor to the assassin that katom mentioned, and the fuel boss and all the others of that style) it worked great never had a fuel pressure issue after that went in and no electrical motors to go haywire. It did increase the fuel system plumbing but not a big deal. Only issue I had with it was the front seal on the pump would wear out after time (like 30-40k miles). It was easy to replace maybe 15-20 minutes. My thoughts on it were that just road grime etc would get on the shaft and slowly but surely work its way into the seal and start to degrade it. I found that by putting a rubber oring on the shaft (the tightest fitting one I could get on) and push it up against the seal helped it quite a bit added another 30k between seal changes. After I put a cam in the truck I converted to a 12 valve lift pump which eliminated the extra fuel line plumbing and never had another worry about lift pumps after that of any kind.

I also will second NIssacs statement about the vp44. If it doesn't need replacing no need to spend 1k+ on one, you will gain nothing but a lighter wallet.

5 years ago I changed all my steel fuel lines for the big stuff from Vulcan performance. Then I added a Fass and did a fuel sump. Left the stock system in place in case the Fass ever fails I just switch the plug and a few lines and I’m running again. After all that I went with RV injectors and a modified stock turbo from BD. Didn’t gain any mileage but it sure woke the truck up. Of course it smokes more now. I feel I’m doing a public service by killing all the mosquitos in the neighborhood.

Greeting all,
Looking over the thread i need help.
NUKEGM posted" the rubber seals caused air leak, causing prime loss".
First, how did you find the leak causing prime loss?
That's been my problem with my FASS titanium problem for years? If i start the truck every day, no problem.
If it sits several days i have to bump prime up to 10 time to get prime to the VP44. My fass is on the frame, installed by FASS dealer. I only use fleetguard filters also abd ive changed them several times?
When it starts, runs fine , good fuel pressue.
FASS says it could be vp44? They say a valve in the pump could cause problem?
One more thing, if its parked front down hill, it generally starts up after sitting several days, go figure.

Up in the air , no fuel pressure in Somerset PA mountains another year..
Any help would be REALLY HELPFUL.

If you pressurize the fuel tank to about 15 psi with a rag wrapped around an air nozzle any leaks should become evident.

Most people pressurize the tank from the filler neck. I do the job with a bit more work by disconnecting the fuel supply line from the tank and clamping the nozzle into the hose. Regulating air pressure to no more than 15 psi is the key.

I like my Fass. Very expensive but works well. I also have a stock truck besides that and int/exh.

If you live in a cold climate having it hang below the frame rail, I'd recommend getting the additional fuel heater for it. Had mine gel up and blow a fuse in 2 degree weather with anti-gel added.

Its also nice that I have a lifetime warranty on it. Have had it on the truck for just about a year.

I like them! A bit more power and mileage may be up a bit. From what I read a tuner would really help with them.
