I have a 93 w25o with the Cummins. My front fuel tank strap broke while going down the highway. The part of the front strap that rides along the bottom of the tank rusted away and fell off going down the highway. I have a few questions. Welding the front is not an option since part of the strap is missing. Can anybody think of a good source to order these straps? I do not have the truck with me as it is with my mechanic 75 miles away. The only straps i have found on the www are from the dealerships costing over $100 each. I would like to replace both straps with the feeling that the rear one is probably on borrowed time anyway. I found a place on ebay that sell these for the Rams however I need to measure the existing straps to assure proper fitment. So if anyone feels like laying under their trucks and measuring each strap I would appreciate it. Thanks in advance for all of your insight and responses.

If you want to cheat or just get buy here is methods you could use .

1 2 small hoses , like garden houses and 2 small chains or cable and one threaded eye and use that i nstead , or if you can find extra wide metal pallet banding material you could make a set up

I would never frig around trying to make metal straps or use garden hose and chainsfor this.

2 big tiewraps... . done in 60 seconds

Ty Raps

Are we talking short term on the road fixes here or permenant. Regardless of size the tie raps I am familier with black and white are made of nylon and eventually crack with age. The white ones are real bad once brittle they break.

I was kind of looking long term. I have had to go through the whole fuel system since the strap broke. Long story short once I noticed the front strap was broke I through a ratchet strap on it to get thru until I located a new strap. I didn't realize that when the front strap broke it dislodged the grommet for the fill neck thus inducing rain water to my fuel tank and eventually killing my ip.

You don't use Home depot tiewraps... .

buy high strength acetal straps from someplace like McMaster-Carr.

They will outlast your truck.
