Competition Funny Truck Pulls

OK - yesterday I was scanning and ran across these Funny Truck Pulls... .



2500 HP rigs - 2wd - help me understand the difference in the weights they pull and what you guys do. OK - I understand 2500 HP - but I really don't - in that they are using these huge back tires - I mean a Big Farm Tractor would pull the tar out of that sled... ... Hey I know very little about this - only what I see on the video's you guys submit... ...

Same sled we pull, they may put a little more weight on, but might not, as those trucks are lighter than the Diesel 4x4s.

So how do they compare in pulling????

I mean do they pull further - quicker or what?????

From what i've seen with the sled that comes to our area, its a combination of weight ( concrete blocks ) and grearing. Don't think for a minute that your pick up will blow smoke on what a log truck or tri axle dump will pull. Even though some of these ( D/C ) truck posess big h. p. they don't have much more if any more torque nor the gearing or weight. The one thing that is more impressive to me is the power to weight ratio they are demonstrating. If you look at it that way the D/C's are cleaning up, plus they are more fun to watch IMO.

Further quicker than our trucks? Unless we pull in the same class,and they weight up, or we weight down, there is really no way to tell.
