Cummins 290 Gen Oil Change

Battery Blankets & Pan Warmer

Indeed. Just like when buying a pressure washer, look at the volume at pressure first. They all make the pressure, but how much air can it move at that pressure?

Also typically the oil filled are quieter. - still gonna be loud though.

Another thing to look at is the duty cycle of the compressor. Typically the oilLESS type have a shorter duty cycle.

What you need to look at is the VOLUME of air to run equipment. The "pressure" part is important too, but not as much.
Ex, a nail gun uses very little volume, but the pressure has to be correct for proper depth control. So a 1 gallon tank is more than enough. An impact gun requires 90 psi (typically) but it uses a lot of air, so the smaller the tank the faster the pressure drops.

Consider doing this then - get another tank(2) to hold more air. That can be a "portable air" tank or something else. Propane tanks work well for this. The propane tanks I have are rated for 250 PSI. NEVER use a water tank - or if you do make sure your insurance is paid up!

I have a large compressor with an 80 gallon tank, but I also have another 400+ gallons of air storage using propane tanks. No, I don't have a bunch of 20lb tanks tied together. WHY do I do this? So when I am using the blast cabinet or sand blaster the compressor doesn't cycle as much. That is much easier on the motor.

Now the other thing to consider - moisture. If you use another tank you will have to drain the moisture from it unless you filter the air before the tank. There are many ways to do that. A refrigerated drier (expensive but very effective), or what I do is run the air through something to cool the air before it enters the tanks, then create a "trap" in the line to collect and easily remove a lot of the moisture.

Want more details just ask.

No problem. However you might be onto something. Maybe a gas powered one would work for him. Not sure what they go for and if that is acceptable.
