I recently went through the same decision process. I initially wanted a dash mount gauge set up but ended up putting them in an A piller from Geno's. Glad I went with that approach. The factory paint on the gauge pod matched perfectly, the gauges are easy to see and look good. Took about 4 hours to install. I had some difficulty getting the original A pillar off and after putting the new A pillar pod over the original pillar, the fit between the double thick A piller and dash was pretty tight. The pics I have don't do the look of the installed gauges justice. I'll try and get some better ones in the next couple of days.

where did you get that pillar from. or who makes it. I havent seen one that works with the speaker like that

Gauges and pillar mount from Genos, paint from MOPAR. I think you can get them pre-painted now, but it was no big deal doing it.

Got more pics with my new camera that I can't get sized down enough to put quality shots on readers rigs. Mounted my transmission temp gauge in my ash tray. Anyone can PM me with an e-mail address and I can send you some better shots, daylight and nighttime.

Ryan

EDIT: Got the pics re-sized and posted in my readers rigs gallery

I like those too but they are for 3rd gens. There isn't enough room between the mirror and the overhead console on 2nd gens. My buddy has one similar with his attitude on an 03, very nice. Easy to read, out of sight for most people, and it doesn't impede your view out of the left side of your truck.

Here's mine. I like them. It was a little more labor intensive than a dash pod or a pillar mount but it is original.

I ditched the AC vents and put the gauges there instead. They don't obstruct the view lit the pillamounts, and I think it looks quit good there. It took some hours to do it right, but no regrets.
