Gear Lube for Diffs in 04

OK... Im going to bite the bullet and get some MagHytec covers for my 9. 25AA and 11. 5AA diffs.

I tow a 11-12 K trailer about half my yearly mileage 10K, and commute the other half 10K. I sometimes tow in 100+F temps.

Currently using Mopar 75W-90 with 91K on truck. Considering Amsoil SVT 75W-110 for front and rear. Is there any reason this would be a mistake?
I don't want to slow down my front diff with thicker oil and reduce mileage, but I figure the Amsoil should make it about the same resistance to rotation.

Anything else I should consider before buying $150 worth of gear lube?

That's what I use and it works great! I would become a preferred customer and get it cheaper. Unless prices have changed or something cause I didn't spend that much.

I think you should be fine... I run 85w140 Royal Purple in the rear of mine and actually gained mileage over 75w90 Mobile 1...

Dealer wants $28. 08 a qt for full syn Mopar 75W-90



Makes Amsoil at less than half that cost sound pretty good.

Is this why most change over to Amsoil or other aftermarket gear lubes?
