I've looked at this replacement for the driver's side seat on my 2005 2500 CTD. Truck is still pretty low mileage and my OEM cushion isn't really in bad shape but it does have some loss of support on the left side from getting in and out of truck. Would I see some overall improvement in comfort and support with the Geno's replacement?? Anyone done this??

Doesn't look like a difficult job changing out the cushion. One set of instructions I've read say the entire driver's seat has to be remove from the cab. Another set said just loosen the straps underneath seat, remove bottom seat cover, and change out the foam.

just replaced the cushion and cover on my 03 st ,my seat is manual adjust and the seat is attached to the mount base with 4 studs didn't need to remove the entire front seat, took maybe 10 min. to remove.

I swapped the cushion in my 05 just before selling it. It is at least 2x the OE cushion was, and I wished I’d done it sooner.

As stated above it was a 10 min job, with time for beer. No wrenches required, just fingers.

By 2X you mean quality, feel, etc? I'm sure my 14 year old foam has really deteriorated but it's still just OK. I'd like a little firmer feel and mainly some support on the left side, where I've noticed wear due to getting in and out of the truck. This is what I hope I'd get with the Geno's replacement.

Just installed the new cushion from Geno's...and did the 'lumbar' repair to the back at the same time. Wow! Wow! Did I say...WOW? Unbelievable! I didn't realize how bad my cushion had gotten until I sat on the new one. Better than new now. Best money I've spent on my truck (except for the rebuilt 5.9 and BD trans) since I bought the truck new in 2004. I keep looking for excuses to run to the store now ;)

I did my ‘04. Loosened the seat bolts, reclined the back as far as it would go.
Loosened the cushion connections and removed the old cushion.
Reverse with the new one and people will think you are 6’8” when you wave to them.
A great replacement upgrade. Take your time and enjoy the results.

What's the "lumbar repair" ??

You guys have sold me. I'm ordering one from Geno's in the morning.

One more question: when you say loosen the seat bolts, I assume those are the bolts that hold the seat to the brackets that attach to the floor.......NOT loosen the brackets that attach to floor. Right?

What's the "lumbar repair" ??
I ordered a new lumbar support (Manufacturer Part Number: 5166079AA), bezel (the round handle on the left-side of the seat-back) and a stronger nylon bolt that fits into the end of the lumbar-strap, instead of using the factory injection molded plastic bolt (which is the weak-link) and installed them concurrent with the seat-foam R&R. The dealership replaced the entire assembly the first time it broke....a few years after I purchased my 2004.5, but it broke again just out of warranty....so I stuffed cushions behind my sheepskin seat cover to compensate....until now. Lumbar support works like new and the new seat-foam cushion has my cowboy hat up against the headliner again. I can't find the part# for the nylon bolt but if you put 'Dodge Ram lumbar fix' on ebay it will pop up.

Have done many seat cushions Dodge and Ford. It's pretty straight forward and worth your time. YouTube has videos. Dodge seats suck!

I folllowed someone’s advice on here when I did my 03 seat the second time. I cut a small piece of carpet and put over the wire mesh in seat base, hen the foam. This way the foam doesn’t protrude out the Suarez and stays firm. Worked well.

Which cushion did you buy? I see several. I have the leather seats

The 05 seat is way easier than the seat in my 13. The 05 uses Velcro to hold the seat cover to the foam. the 4th gen seats use these Hog rings what a pain in the A...
