Get to go to the track

Well it looks like Sunday I will be heading to the track to see what the old girl can do. Last time I went I ran a pretty high 16 just curious what she is going to do now with my more recent mods. I think my mechanic is going to go too he has one bad a$$ pickup for a second gen. He has twins and enough fuel to run them. Should be interesting I bet we will turn a few heads when we black out the lanes. He thinks we will probably be the only diesels out there. Well better go so I can see if I can get my propane tank installed before we go I want all the help I can get I might want to try to grind my fuel pin a little more to?????????

So how'd it go?

Well I ran 15. 5 in the 1/4 mile at 91mph. Not great, but not to bad considering that my clutch was slipping. I tried to launch in four wheel drive,but I couldn't get my clutch to hold very well and ran a 15. 6 at 89mph. My last run was even worse I ran a 15. 7 and don't know how fast I was going. So in conclusion I will need to purchase a south bend and maybe a little water/meth. and see how it does after that. As soon as I get some pictures back I will see if I can get them posted.

I have a Luk Pro Gold It seemed to hold very well for me. Dumping @ 2200 with a 2. 07 60ft. Its really hard on the drive train though. I hope to go a little quiker this summer. Id like to go low 15s or high 14s. Ill do some tweaking and see what it will do on #2.

Oh one more thing with that kind of MPH you should be in the low 15s. Once you get hooked up... .

My mechanic went with me and did a 14. 3 at 95mph dont really know how fast you would have to go to be a low 15.

Oh yeah I have a luc pro gold too and its allmost toast thats why I'm going to a south bend. Its been a really good clutch, but its not holding anymore.

Thats cool. The first one I had I replaced with 97k miles on it. I replaced it with a new one when I rebuilt the Getrag. The clutch was a good one so I went with another Luk for $360 for the set I couldnt go wrong. I busted 3rd and 4rth gear's. 3 weeks after the 15. 6 run. I was just driving along easy when it started grindind badly in 3rd. 2 days later I was counting teeth that were missing from 3rd and 4rth. Oh well you play you pay... .
