Massive Ford recall

Wow - Silenthunter4 - Just Came OUT!!!!!!

Sounds like the place I was referred to. (Class A Leasing I believe was the name)

Seems easy enough. I was thinking that even with a rear window they wouldn't let ya use it. By the sounds of things... if it's got it... you can use it.

So far so good! Re-read the book tomorrow night and take the permit test on monday. If I pass that... A buddy whom owns his own rig will take me out next weekend. If I feel confidant after that... I'll find this leasing place and set up a Monday where I can go take the test.

I would check the state laws. Here in ND if you take the driving test in an automatic trans truck you will have an auto transmission restriction and can then only drive a truck with an auto.

I taught tuck driving school for MTA fro several months and hated it. floating gears wont flunk you. Most state testers cant drive a rig anyway. They WILL flunk you if you hit 1 curb, dont check your mirrors frequently, cant back up straight, and cant blind side parralell park. This is in Texas.

Blind side parralell parking is done only to show combination vehicle control.

there are a lot of steering wheel holders out there. there are not many truck drivers.

Another point is to not use a spread ax trailer or 1 that is longer than you are used to as they can be a bit tougher to do the backing test with.

Same goes for tri axles without a liftable axle. You never know which 2 axles it will spin on, or will switch which pair if the ground is a bit unlevel.

So I should try to find a short, Day cab truck with a single rear axle trailer.

Got it... . lol...

I think this little adventure is going to be fun!

look these guys up

Josh,

I got mine from http://www.interstatedriving.com/ in 2005 (no affiliation, just quick and easy). It cost a little bit, but went smooth and the teachers knew what they were talking about, and new the little tricks that testers might try to fool you with. If you want more feed back pm me, i'de be happy to chat. Good luck,

Matt

fortgot to tell you.....

They supply the test vehicle included in the cost, I drove a FL-60 with a 10 ft dump-body, and an empty 14 ft tandem axle skid steer trailer.

The permit test has been passed! Oo. Oo. Oo.

93% on the pretrip questions

84% on each of the other 3 sections

Now I just need some seat time! :D

Way to go Josh!

I took my driving test with a single axle tractor with a 5x2 trans pulling a single axle hopper. It was short, easy to drive and shift, it had air brakes, and it passed inspection. And it was good enough to get a class A with 100000+ gross.

I wasn't a Billy-big-rigger, but I got my licence.

Good luck Josh!

I'm still working on getting some seat time for practice.

Once I do I'll go take the test. I just got my tax return, so I can afford to find one of the leasing companies.
