--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I recently purchased a 5er that when loaded is probably about 16k. This weekend was the first trip out & I was fighting the pyro most the way. In the hills anyway. My current set up is Edge Hot Comp box, DD3's, Catcher ECU, HX-40,4'' exhaust w/5'' stacks, DTT trans w/ 410 gears. 285/17'' tires. I ran w/ the box off & was still seeing up to 1300 at times with my foot barely in it . Mostly 1200 in the hills in 3rd but barely touching the fuel. I did the variations in gear/rpm thing & pending traffic that worked best but still not good enough. So heres the deal, Im thinking of either putting my stock injectors back in & run my box on 5-5 daily. (usually on 3-5) Or preferably a better injector than stock but has to be able to pull heavy with my other mods. Ive been out of the injector loop for awhile & understand some advancements may have been made. After searching a bit the F1 EDM 1. 6's seem to be talked of alot. Still dont know if thats too hot with the rest or not though. Any help guys would be great ! Thanks--Proflow

You should consider going with some MAch 1. 6's. They will run much cooler than your dd3's plus retain virtually all the power you currently have.

Just spoke with Bob Wagner on the phone, looks like the ticket is going to be the 1. 6's. Thanks you guys & thank you Bob also. Proflow

50% less horsepower. The Mach 1. 6's are a very popular injector.

Had the 275's upgraded to 1. 6's and never looked back! This is towing #9000 5r with the stock hx35. Granted, I do have to shift my own gears though. :-laf

I still do have the hx 40, gonna do the 1. 6's. Now for another issue, my trans is a rock built by DTT. Believe me its brutal. Nothing left to do. Till now. Heres where Im going with this : My 1-2 & 2-3 shifts are way too aggressive for towing. Ill surely bust the hell outa something if towing continues. So Im hoping this is an adjustment I can do myself. If not I'll pull the valve body & send it to Bill & the crew. Any thoughts ?

The valve body needs to be altered if you are having hard shifts at heavy throttle. DTT can set it up to shift any way you want.

It really depends on how the trans was setup to begin with. The best bet would be to call DTT, and ask them. DTT has many options when they setup a trans, and the best part is they document each trans, so they can look up and see how that particular trans was setup.

Did you notice a decrease in egts going to the 1. 6s from the 275s?

Nope. Increased noticebly. Not hot in any way that can't be controlled with the right foot. I just have to drive my truck a little differently. I would not go back to the 275's though. The 1. 6's are much more fun to drive.
