All I can figure is that someone cut me off or wouldn't let me in. I go out of my way to not rudely smoke.

And If I really had a car that smoked I don't think I would need a letter to let me know it. What a waste of tax dollars at work. :-{}

I WANT ONE!!! Oo. :D

OMG... that is hilarious!!! You were obviously "turned in" by someone who doesn't have a clue about diesels or who got ****** because you smoked them... either way, who cares? That's some funny stuff.

Frame those letters... I would. Of course, my pickup is registered in a state where there are no smog checks or anything else like that, so I wouldn't even worry about something like that.

You are a God among men... I am humbled to be in your presence!

Please tell me you are going to fill out the questionaire and return it. I would LOVE to fill one of those out with all the "appropriate" answers. That's too funny. Things like this remind me why I hate city folks like the jerk that reported you. I can't wait to get my Comp box. :D

Congrats,

Reb [><]

Thats pretty funny. I would also fill out the form and send it in. Whats even funnier is that some idiot really felt the need to report you. :-laf

Rebel - posts like yours remind me of why 'city folk' deem 'country folk' ignorant rednecks... .

Under the comments section, something to the effect of, "Do you know how much it cost me to be able to do that?!?" should do nicely..... ;) :D

Lightman... why the personal attack? Or was that in jest? I feel the same way Rebel does about the dumb folk that live in the city and don't have a clue how the real world works (I'm not saying everyone in the city is dumb, cause obviously they aren't... just the morons like the guy who reported Emerson)... they don't understand that a true workday isn't 8 hours. A true work-week is a minimum of 80 hard hours, and nothing less...

Course, I'm just an ignorant redneck born and raised on a farm, so I'm not too worried about anything but gettin' the cows milked and drivin' my tractor down the road. I just don't think I could keep up with the fast paced city life.

I thought about filling it out with a comment page attached. But the reader would need a flame suite on for sure.

I could also add that if they lowered license fees in California i could afford twins to fix my smoke PROBLEM.

But on a side note my wife sure got a kick out of it when she opened the mail. :D

fricken unbelievable

An old family friend of ours finally sold her car (84 Mercedes turbo diesel wagon) because she got so many of those letters. She bought a new E320 (gas). She lives in Kensington, which is right next to Berkeley, and she said that it smoked a little when she would climb the hills. Here is the funny part. She is the daughter of Oregon governor Sprague.

Texas has a similar program. Here's how it works. It applies to city slickers and country rednecks equally. :(

Actually I never took them... took the ACT instead. Down here we don't hold much truck in test scores. Real world knowledge is what matter in life. Personally couldn't give a rats ass what my score is.

Yeah, I'm a redneck. A born and bred, ride horses, rodeo, listen to country music, go mud riding, think gun laws and smog laws are a bunch of crap, damn proud redneck. If you don't like it, quit supporting us by not buying any meat, any vegetables, no clothes, etc. Matter of fact, just go live in a cave, because "ignorant rednecks" like me provide most of the consumables in this country.

Snowracer, yes it was in jest, but that sure went over some people's heads:rolleyes: . The point was that rebel shouldn't be grouping 'city folk' and idiots in the same category... . I clearly said the guy who reported emerson was an idiot, and thought it was funny

You are in trouble now, all that smoke could make your subject to the Patriot Act. You might be spreading something really deadly.

Thats pretty funny. I love it when idiots are self-righteous enough to actually report someone for something like that. Luckily for members of this board, if their truck is smoking that much, its usually too fast to catch the plate :D

SEmerson YOU DA MAN Gotta love it. Wonder what a loser like they are were driving probably one of those cars you pull in to the gas station and say fill up the oil and check the gas please. Wonder if they stand on the conner all day and take down all the license plats of all the vehicles that smoke. Somebody like that needs to GET A LIFE.

MIKE

Too funny,

Here's my answers to the questionaire:

3. Aware of smoke emissions? Yes

4. Cause of excessive smoke? Burning oil

5. Vehicle repaired? No

6. Did you take any action? Unable to take action due to lack of funds.

Well REBEL why don't you just tell us what you really think??? I have to admit I found the "smoke " story funny, so much so I actually came back to read it again. As I sit hear I have to think how truly luck I am, that I can read post of forum like this, without censorship, or governmental supervision. That said I do have to add that tuning one truck to "smoke" for the merer reason of annoying someone else, or drawing attention to them selves, is wrong. You may disagree, and that is fine, it is your right. I served in the army, and was more then willing to die for that right. But this kind of attention is not helpful to our cause or our sport. Look around, things have changed. Non days groups have to be more careful with the things they do, there actions, or lack of actions can and often are held against them. How many more public lands have to be closed to trucks, motorcycles, and ATV's, because a few bad apples couldn't pick up there trash, or respect the riding areas? I love these diesel trucks, and I do not want to have some governmental agency telling me what modifications I can and can not make.
