Grill/Radiator Cover Clarification

After reading the grill/radiator threads just want to clarify: Does a cover help initial warmup or just keep the coolant temperature up afterwards?



It would seem the thermostat would determine warmup as coolant should not circulate through the radiator until the thermostat temp is reached. I read that most claim faster warmup time though .



The wife is complaining the truck doesn't warmup fast enough in this cold weather . I will get one if it helps.

I noticed when I put mine on, that the warm-up times decreased. I got the one that goes underneath your hood and wraps the whole front end. I would think the whole engine compartment would warm up faster and stay warmer with this on as it restricts airflow through the radiator and cold air coming directly into the engine compartment. This is just what I have noticed and my opinion, but I feel it was $100 very well spent.
