37300 for WHAT? You can get a '04. 5 3500 QC 4x4 LARAMIE for $36546 from carsdirect. They seem to be about $200 under invoice minus rebates. Personally, I won't be ready to jump on a deal until I find something close to 3% under invoice (~$1000). If I have to move to another state to get it, then so be it...

Hehehe... thanks... I was using your price as a metric to my buying decision since I had planned to get it from you prior to finding out this CA law crap. Looks like we may have a deal brewing in one of the border states, though, so hopefully us Kalifornia residents will be set to go here soon. If not, I still may be coming to you... you did said you'd rent me a room in your house for $50 bucks so I could estabilish residency in MO, right? ;) :p

3 600s sitting in dealer lot

Just took hold of mine tonight and found out my dealer has three 600s ready to go, the people who ordered them had bad credit, bad trade, ect. if you are looking for a 600 in the SF bay area of CA call Gary LaFountain at Autoworld in Petaluma, CA.

Found a dealer in oregon that will let a fully loaded 4x4 quad cab with the lariame and nav system ( look at my earlier post) go for around $36,500. 00 without tax or license. I guess I am going to order tomorrow. He said He wants $1,000. 00 for the order but he will probley take less. The dealer is Richard hines and you can reach him at (503) 666-2277. The dealership is located in Gresham, Or. Rick

Personally, with incentives you should be able to buy one of these at $2,000 UNDER invoice. Local dealer is telling me they won't deal on the new 600/325 because it's just too hot and people are going to be falling all over themselves to get one.

Guess where I won't be buying my truck?

The price we're talking about ($$ under invoice) is not including the rebates. For instance, tomeygun's price is 3% under invoice, or about $1000 bucks under... minus the $2500 rebate and you get $3500 under... but you can't order the CA sticker where he lives, so bellyscraper found a deal in Oregon... gonna save a boatload on sales tax too. PM him your phone number and get in on the deal if ya wanna save! :D

I was told today that the truck I ordered in oregon is over 41k in California and that is not including the sales tax or license fees. i got the truck for 36k and if I can swing it perhaps no sales tax.

Be carefeul- they have a task force looking for those kind of people.

WHO has a task force? "They"? Oh man. . from what I hear "they" record every phone conversation anyone has ever had, and secret computer databases store every bit of information that passes across the internet, and "they" even know what I'm going to have for breakfast next Thursday... :p

But seriously... I have had several friends who have driven cars with out of state plates while they lived here in CA for years. They never got pulled over... wouldn't that be the first step in getting caught? That is, unless this "task force" is searching forums looking for people conspiring to commit such evil.

Oh by the way, I would never skirt the system like this!! I have already bought out of state vehicles and paid through the nose for CA tax. However, I may move out of this stupid state and keep my house as a "vacation home" so I can come back to CA for those times I just can't seem to find enough traffic to get stuck in. :-laf

Its real Hard for them to mess with you for having out of state plates, If your neighbor was a cop maybe. I have been in Georgia since 1987 and I have never tagged a vehicle here. I like to keep the Motherland "Louisiana" plates on everything after all I'm really I'm just visiting Georgia. If you have got a good adress in oregon I'd change my license, Liability ins and tag everything there. Arnold want mind

Well has of today the best deal I can get is $650. 00 under and that deal is at Antioch dodge in California. Call Roy Erickson at (925) 778-9700. The deal in oregon is around $500. less but to me it's not worth the trip. I was going to try to get the truck registered in Oregon but it is turning out to be more of a hassel then I thought. But you could save up to $5,000. 00 if you could figure out how to register it there. These dealers just dont want to let go of their secret money. the $650. 00 off is only around 1/2 of it. Rick.

bellyscraper - Try picking up a copy of your local truck trader magazine. I have seen an ad in there from a dealer that says something like get your Dodge 600 factory direct to California with some pretty decent prices if I remember correctly. I do not have one handy or I'd give you the website and phone number. I'll keep looking for the website and send it if I find it. I believe they are located somewhere in Arizona. I don't know what local dealers you have tried but some of the dealers in the Inland Empire have good fleet departments. My parents and a few friends have got good deals at a couple different dealers in the area.

When I was looking for my 02 there were some good prices in Arizona, Oklahoma, and Idaho but I ended up getting the best deal at my local dealer in Vegas plus I didn't have to drive anywhere. I really didn't want to buy from them but they had exactly what I wanted at the time. I had another dealer run an inventory search and the one in Vegas showed up along with a dealer in Arizona that had my exact truck. I even went as far as going to three other dealers in town with their quote and VIN of my truck to see if they could do a dealer trade for my truck. No one could match it and they said just put up with their crazy antics and buy it there.

No joke, there is a task force/operation looking for out of state registration on high dollar cars, trucks, and RV's. They had a CHP officer on the local radio station yesterday to "remind" people that you must switch your registration if you recently moved to CA or run the risk of fines and impounding your vehicle. She called it something like alien resident registration. She also asked for people to call in and report their neighbors with out of state plates. Besides people reporting you I'm not sure how they are going to go about doing this. They can't just start pulling over all out of state vehicles for no reason can they? I guess if a cop wanted to be a jerk they could pull over a truck they saw all the time. It is fairly obvious where my parents live in the High Desert. You see brand new trucks with Oregon and Montana plates all the time, but if you have your paperwork straight, what can they do?
