Truck has sporatic Hard start problem. Usually starts right up if it only sits for an hour or less, anymore than that and she cranks over for 3 seconds or so before firing. Kinda like starting on a real cold day without plugging in. Seems to run fine, can't find any obvious leaks so... ... before shelling out for a Hot Rod VP (can't replace any item with stock, that is my rule!
) I am thinkin of trying Mach 1. 5's hoping that in doing so I might find/repair a leak on the High pressure side of the VP. Good idea or bad idea??
When I hit the key pressure gauge goes to 7 or 8 psi before falling back to zero for start. Used to hit the key and watch the gauge zoom to 13 or even 15 before falling back for start. Does this sound like a leak? Could the leak be inside the VP?
Any ideas would be appreciated.
Thanks
Side note, I am thinkin 1. 5's cause I don't want to change turbo now and I figure I can unplug Raptor and drive easy and keep the Auto smilin for another year. I rarely tow and wonder if I will be sorry I did not go with Mach 2's. I want to be able to drive without worrying about EGT's unless towing heavy loads. Yeah I lend my truck out on occassion.
