I am in Kansas City, mo and it has been fairly cold this winter. It seems when i run the truck daily it has no problem starting for the first time. If it sits a day or two or 3 in between starts it seems it is a little more difficult to start. I do keep it pluged in.

I am thinking the fuel has drained from being close to the injectors and it takes a while to pull it to the engine?

I'm thinking your thinking is probably right. :) The fuel return lines from the cyl. head area are rubber and you probably have a leak somewhere letting the fuel drain back to the tank. bg

It could be a air leak somewhere. Email me at -- email address removed -- for my 12 valve fuel supply system write up, how it works and how to fix it.

them rubber fuel lines all always a problem, if they have never been replaced, probably a good idea, if you still have the problem, check the fuel heater, sometimes the plug wires burnup, and can let air in the system.

It still sounds like an air leak to me. There are other places such as the fuel preheater that can cause leaks even if you have new fuel lines. I recommend reading the summary from Joe G and follow his advice on all the places you could be introducing air.

Fuel pressure test , you need to put some fittings in the fuel system to get access , some put the fittings in the top of fuel filter housing , I did the fittings into the banjo bolt on the P pump .
Same thing , once you check that is to make a fitting for the fuel tank cap , then put 3 lbs air pressure [ because under running conditions the lines & hoses from tank to filter under vacuum so air going / not fuel coming out ] .
If you do a search you should find a picture of fittings for pressure testing .
I am putting together some parts to sell as test kits [ both for fuel pressure & pressurizing the tank ] some of the parts are not easy to find at a good price .
