Just remember the difference in Torque Converters when somebody says "launching at 14PSI" or "Launching at 35PSI"

I know for a fact, I can launch in 2wd at 30PSI, and not spin my slicks.

So then why are others lighting up all 4 tires at only 20PSI?

Converter efficiancy.

Having a Super tight converter is not always for the best. In my situation, it would be the worst thing I could do for my truck. However, with the right turbo's on the truck, it would do wonders, I wouldn't have to always drive around in lockup.

Just broke a Billet Suncoast Output shaft today at around 25 psi and climbing . . right before the 60 ft. mark it went right before the 2nd gear shift. What else is there?lol

Way to bring up an OLD thread dude! I was reading, not looking at the date... and saw a post from Stakeman... and was like wooohhhh, check the date 2 years old!

ATS is the only way to go for outputs, hands down.

The Reason You Should Not Lock The Converter In 1st Gear On A Drag Launch Is Because Of The Roller Clutch In The Back Of The Case. This Is A One-way Overrunning Clutch That Holds The L/r Drum And Rear Planet For Low Gear Multiplication. If You Lock The T/c, There Is A Chance Of Ripping The O/r Clutch Cam That Is Splined Into The Rear Of The Case Out And Cracking The Trans Case. Once The 1-2 Shift Has Taken Place, The Frt Band And Drum Are The Holding Element And Lockup Can Be Safely Engaged.

I broke my stock output on a 12 psi launch. I then had Floor It install the billet output from DTT which I should have done when he built the transmission the first time. My 60 foot times range from 1. 66 to 1. 76. The 1. 66 was with a 20 psi launch. The low 1. 7 times come with 13 to 15 poundish launches. After changing from the drag comp to the custom TST and EZ stack I can't launch over 20 psi without wheelspin and being inconsistent on my times. I hit lock up right after the 1-2 shift. Best pass to date is a 12. 84 but with an easy 12-13 pound launch I can run consistent 13. 0s for bracket racing. 1/8 mile times of 8. 30-8. 34 at that launch boost also.

Thanks Bob... see, J&H did the trans build for the truck . . it's a full Suncoast Unit. Hopefully we're able to warranty the billet shaft. . i'd assume so but who knows. If not, i will be getting ahold of Opie. . thanks for the heads up!
