I am planning on replacing my head gasket on my 96 12v. (Due to excess crankcase pressure blowing oil out the vent above 8psi boost. It uses no oil as long as I stay below that boost pressure. I can't gripe at 400K. ) Replacing injectors and doing a valve job while I've got the head off.

I ran across an article about "Grooving Heads" to increase power, help fuel mileage and run cooler.

Has anyone heard of this or is it just another 'Snake Oil' sales pitch. Here is the web site: somender-singh.com Read the article and let me know what you think.

96, 12v, KDP secured, 2500, extended cab, 4x2, 3. 54, Std, 24 button clutch, boost and pyro, mostly stock at 400K, still getting 20-21 mpg

I don't have a clue on the grooves, but usually blowby is caused by pistons/rings/cylinder walls.

Nick

Yeah, blow by is usually rings.

Oh, and any product that claims you can get a 20-40% increase in economy is most likely a bunch of garbage.

Read the article, it is based gas engine small displacemnt engine technology that doesn't adequately mix fuel and air. A DI diesel is another animal completely.

All the work your doing is likely not going to help your blow by. Run a compression and leak down test and you will have a better idea what needs done.
