Geno lists urethane headlight covers and I think they might be a good thing to have. Utah likes to spread pea gravel liberally on their roads (chipping) I think that term describes what it does to your windshield and not the road. Anyway, my question is-has anyone tried these. Do they go on with double sided tape, and will they come off when they yellow. Haven't seen urethane that won't yellow. Does anyone recommend, does anyone disapprove? Are there any better protectors? Thanks for any advice!!

I bought mine from here . I think they are probably all the same. Been on for over 3 years now, no broken lights and no yellowing. The fog light ones have bubbles in them however and have had since new. I also have the plastic on the fenders and the hood, so far it all looks good.

Just installed a set from Geno's (so I cannot comment on the yellowing or longevity).

The adhesive covers all of the urethane light cover (no double sided tape).

Some installation advice: Use a hair dryer to heat light cover and protective cover thoroughly (it makes installation very simple and faster than just turning on the headlights and fog lights). Also, very very lightly spray the rubbing alcohol solution (activates the adhesive?). Too much, and you spend a lot of time waiting for the adhesive to 'dry' and hanging around to make sure the corners stay stuck down.

Thanks for the tips AT. Sounds like if you go this way, the covers

are on there forever. That is glued to the headlights!!

Does Geno's supply fog light covers with their kit?

Grayhackle...

It doesn't look like they make those for the '03 yet. They don't list a year and the pic looks like the 2nd gen headlights.

another thing to consider is a product called Clear Bra

go to their website to find a dealer in your area

http://www.clearbra.net/

It is like a thick clear sticker and the name implies for the front of the car... ... . "bra" ... ... the stupid vinyl covers... . They make these for the fronts of cars and leading edges of fenders. this is a sticker that is almost invisible with different thicknesses, it is able to take a rock at 60 mph and not crack the headlight. neat thing is, this stuff comes on a roll so you can cut to size and use it for anything like celphones, radio faces, or whatever.

I used a 20 mil thick piece to put on the headlights, turnsignals, and the fog lights!! Have had them on for a few years now and still look great!! Also have a thick piece on my cel-phone.

Oo. A clear bra. I've always wanted to see one of those. :-laf Sorry, I'm a young buck and simple minds are amused by simple things.

Eric

I took the wife's Camry in to get a bid for a clearbra and it was really expensive. I can't remember exactly but it was in the neighborhood of $500 for that little car! I might go in and get a bid for the truck. If I do that, I am really in trouble with the wife. She is complaining about rock chips already!

There are many ways to part with your money.

Eric, how difficult is it to handle and install? How well does it conform to uneven shapes? How hard is it to cut out to the shape you need? Is it pretty much invisible when installed?

Vaughn

Vaughn,

I have this on my truck, so it must be invisible, if you didn't know :)

I tried doing the fender install, and decided I needed professional help. Not something I wanted to do in the driveway. I think if you had a nice heated shop and the patience it could be done.

Mine was pre cut, so I don't know how hard it is to cut.
