BD now has a Second Generation TSB. They also have a "Smart" button available.

I just ordered the BD Second Generation Throttle Sensitivity Booster with Remote Button from Xtreme Diesel Performance. With Instant 10% Discount it was $234 for the booster and $44 for the Smart button.

For you Canadian guys, I actually got it cheaper from XDP even with the exchange and shipping than I could get it for direct retail from BD Diesel Performance in Canada. It's $399 for booster plus $65 for switch plus Tax. I'm all in for under $400 CAD from Xtreme Diesel Performance in the States.

When I spoke with BD Diesel Performance direct, they had 87 in stock.

Hopefully this looks after this dead pedal and throttle response problem. I'll let you know.

Here are the links to the Booster and Switch mentioned above.

I experienced the dead pedal for the first time yesterday.... Came off the interstate.. came up to the stop sign.. hit the throttle once to move up to the line after the car in front of me pulled out... took and good look and saw I had time to turn right... hit the accelerator and nothing... truck didn't move for what was probably a couple of seconds, then took off...

Gonna call the dealer today and see if they can help, or atleast get it documented while its under warranty.

Curious to see how you like it. I've just learned to compensate for this lag...though it was real apparent one time last week when I tried to make a quick left turn and "nothing" happened. I had been driving my commuter car for the prior 2 weeks straight and forgot I was in my truck. OOPS.

I usually only notice the dead pedal when pulling out to pass on the interstate so I didn't bother with the button. I run on the low setting and while it doesn't cure the problem it does help greatly. I'm sure the high setting would make the throttle way to touchy for my needs.

So long my diesel truck

I haven't posted on the forum for a long time. Just want to say that I have had dead pedal and engine lag since
I bought my 2014 2500 in Jan 2014. NO solution for these problems from Dodge or service manager and the problems have
been pushed to the back of all problems.

So many recalls and so many of them not fixed or fixed correctly. Waiting weeks for a single part that is still under the
OEM warranty. Two times in for LOF and after checking, no LOF's were done. Long time rear end growling noise that
was documented by mechanic but nothing more done. I could continue but think I have made my point.

So, new in Jan. 2014, currently 7,820 miles highway driving, pulled my 32' trailer four times, ***** star up keep on all
maintenance myself except the two LOF's.

Had sales manger, using NADA, book it out for me. $51,000++ if I sell to an individual. $47 - $49,000++ if used for a trade-in. Have the title. Called a good GMC dealer I know. Told him I wanted a new, 2016 GMC, top of the line, 1/2 ton 4x4 8 cyl gas engine, heavy duty and every option I could get. Called me today. Got one that I wanted. $52,000+++ sticker price.
Him dropping that price down to $47,000++ which my truck booked out to, we have a PUSH. He gets my title, I get the
one for the new truck. I will write a check for an extended warranty and drive the truck home. Good deal/bad deal? Don't
care. Dodge will never sell me another vehicle after buy 13
trucks and cars.

Now selling my 32' trailer and buy a nice super light, 18-20' one.

Wish all of you guys the best. Learned a lot from the forum. Check in once I awhile on the GMC forums. I just might
be on their complaining. :>).

Hi Guy's I have a 2007.5 Dodge diesel 6.7 auto. Codes p2121 & p2122. Think I have a bad [TPS]. Check engine lite on & sparky the lightin bolt goes on & off after a while. Dead pedal ,sometimes leavin red lites. Don't go hardly then kicks in after 3 or 4 seconds. Does anyone know if this throttle sensitivity booster works if the throttle positioning sensor is bad ?? I would guess not. I will call Xtreme Diesel this week to find out for sure. Thanks for any input. Later Jerry Sorry Guys Wrong Generation Truck. Don't think it matters, seems like a lot of these drive by wire trucks have dead pedal issues.

I have no dead pedal, but bought the TSB and installed with the button to get less turbo lag. Seems to help a bit. Turbo spools quicker

Sounds like you need a trip to the repair shop, tho

Sorry to hear it Bill, but I can't blame you for it. I don't understand why so many issues that can cause bodily harm are ignored when they spend millions over a stupid weld on the A arm (I think that's what it's called) that most likely is OK. My rear end failed quickly and they had no choice but to repair. But 14K miles and the complete rear end scrambles. BTW, it took almost the same amount of time just to inspect the A arm than it took to repair the diff. The dealer we bought ours from seems to be like yours, your looked at like an inconvenience. I'm hoping to get the 500K mile service life out of my 07, that way I don't need to spend ridiculous amounts of money on another truck, I'll be too old by then.

Clearly all brands and all vehicles are prone to some bad apples... All brands have their problems... I really think you two had a dealership problem... Given a good, honest, caring dealership who would take care of your issues I believe you two would be singing a different tune.

I didn't buy my truck new, I am the second owner. It was originally purchased in Texas... My dealership here in Illinois has done a fabulous job servicing it. They know they didn't sell it, but they have never once asked nor given me any push back.

I think bad dealers give brands more of a black eye than anything else.. Unless you have a 6.0 ford... then they just suck.

I know many owners with 200K+ W/O problems....Over the years and 1000s of calls one thing most have in common buying products form Grocery sellers, these are companies that sell products that they have NO idea how it works or the damage it will cause. Example 2014 owner with 110,000 miles has low rail pressure, Calls XP. they sell him a rail plug, the plugs at times will destroy the contact surface, this happen to this owner. Shortly after buying the plug when pulling a TT to customer the truck layed down, He had to pay another hauler to make the delivery ,Plus the tow charge and the down time and a New rail, He figured He lost $2000.00 after all said and done.
You need to be discreet when buying form sellers that don't manufacture the product, In many cases they are trained to tell you what you want to hear, if it fails they will just blame You for installing it incorrectly or roll you over to the manufacture with the hope of tiring you out.

To go back to the example it was a $90.00 part form us that would have fix his problem, T&C does NOT sell our product to grocery sellers. These types of sellers use bait and switch tactics often ,again just to sell.

I ordered My 2013 the day orders could be taken, its only problem was the in tank pump failed at 238 miles, other then that it has never displayed message or CEL, My 2014 been flawless also.

Funny thing is I know a guy with a sick-0. Over 250,000 with the only repair being a set of injectors at about 200,000.
The latter 6.0's at the end of production seemed to have better luck. The problem was, that the 6.4 was already in production. It took Ford awhile to sort out the issues, but I wouldn't own any Ford of any model.

I can make this problem repeat on my truck now. If I use the gear shift button to show the currently (automatically selected gear) I notice that the truck doesn't downshift when I take my foot off the pedal until the accelerator is touched or the truck stops. So in a yield situation where I'm coming up to a right turn and I back off the throttle I'll be seeing the transmission still in 4th gear at under 20mph. What then happens is I stomp on the accelerator to merge into traffic and the truck hesitates, shifts into first or second, then ramps up from 800rmps to 2500rpms before she starts pulling. This results in a 1.5 to 2 second lag or dead pedal.
