You have to pull the dash basil off first then the mirror/heater/AC module is screwed in place with a lot vacuum tubes and wires on the back side. It is not a serviceable unit. However I was able to clean my switch. Mine was different, as my light was not coming on.
They are not fast, and take quite a few miles to heat up.
Let me study the manual!
OK, first test is to turn on key and then push the mirror heat button while watching the volt meter. You should see a drop in voltage. IN three to four minutes you should feel a temp difference on the mirror surface!
If these test fail then you have a faulty:
* Heated mirror switch, electronic control logic and timer circuity and headed mirror relay.
* Heated mirror wire harness circuits or connectors.
* Outside mirror heating grid (both mirror grids would have to fail)
They should run for 15 minutes! If you push the switch again they run only 5 minutes. To get a 15 minute cycle again the key has to go off and back on.
My guess is you did not leave them on long enough, a wiring issue, or both have failed.
