You dont need DOT #, but I would be sure your registration is for 35K GCWR and you have a CDL. CDL's are required for ANYTHING 26,001 lbs or more.

I take my 4 wheelers to utah and go hunting or riding, asked the state law what was legal, they require their 4 wheelers to be registered and insp. , they told me that whatever my state required is what i would be required to go by, not theirs, Monte, but the op is going to be overweight for his truck anyway, He'll break something hauling that kind of load, especially going that distance
